CMDI Tagum students reap awards at the 2018 BYLI International Social Science Camp

Representatives of public and private schools all over the country participated in the International Social Science Camp organized by the Borres Youth Leadeship Institute, Inc. (BYLI) on 26 to 30 October 2018 at the Carlos Hilado Memorial State College in Bacolod City. This year’s theme is, “Promoting and Accelerating Sustainable Development Goals.”

CARD-MRI Development Institute, Inc. (CMDI) joined for the second time and was represented by Senior High School students from its Tagum City and Bay campuses. Various activities such as essay writing and poster making contests, impromptu speaking, general information quiz, debate, and foreign singing contest were lined up for the week-long activity.

Grade 12 students Eve Bernice Delosa and Novejoy Dellomes won the second place in the poster making; Grade 11 student Justine Morial got the first place in the essay writing; and Grade 12 student Joyce Mae Quijano was declared the champion in the foreign singing contest.

The BYLI, through the camp, aims to “develop awareness of and concern for social issues in personal, social, environmental, and technological contexts and create a network and community of young global leaders who are catalysts for change.”
