CMDI Tagum officially opens SY 2019-2020

CARD-MRI Development Institute, Inc. (CMDI) Tagum City campus officially welcomed more than 900 senior high school and college students during its morning assembly and opening of classes last June 17 for the school year 2019-2020.

Founder and Chairman Emeritus of CARD MRI and also the Dean of Business & Management, Dr. Jaime Aristotle B. Alip, welcomed and encouraged the students to finish their studies. He shared the plans to establish a campus in Butuan City and the goal to become a university after three years.

The current and new faculty members were also introduced and inducted. Dr. Alip met with them and discussed CMDI’s mandate to use education in fighting poverty.

“To the new teachers, I have always been very clear on the objectives of CARD. We are not in the business of microfinance. We are not in the business of microinsurance; neither are we in the business of health. We are in the business of poverty eradication,” Dr. Alip emphasized.

He further encouraged the teachers to always provide quality education and challenged them to be conscious of the reasons why students are dropping out. He also reminded that he does not like to hear financial problem as an excuse to stop going to school because CMDI is willing to provide students with a job while studying.

“In the business of CMDI in education, your job is to educate them. You make sure that they [students] will have quality education so that when they graduate you bring them out of poverty,” he concluded.

He assured them that CARD MRI is willing to support their graduate studies at their preferred school if they choose to stay long enough with CMDI. This opportunity aims to make the teachers more competitive and at par or even better with other colleges and universities in the country.
