Around mid-afternoon on January 12, 2020, Taal volcano erupted and spewed ashes that severely affected Batangas and Cavite and prompted its residents to flee their homes. A number of evacuees were settled in barangays Bitin, Sta. Cruz, Tranca, Masaya, and Paciano in Bay, Laguna.

This situation prompted the CMDI Business Society, an academic organization of CARD-MRI Development Institute, Inc., to immediately solicit relief goods for the eruption survivors. Its members and other BS Entrepreneurship students were able to collect canned goods, noodles, diapers, and hygiene kits, which were immediately delivered to 30 families in Brgy. Tranca on January 22, 2020.

CMDI is proud to have students with the initiative to help fellow Filipinos especially in times of calamities and the institution will always support similar activities.
