CMDI Librarian feted with international award

The CARD-MRI Development Institute, Inc. (CMDI) Head Librarian, Mila M. Ramos, was awarded the Gold Prize for Outstanding Librarian in the 2018 Congress of Southeast Asian Librarians (CONSAL) on 4 May 2018 at the Myanmar International Convention Center in Naypyitaw, Myanmar.

The said award is given to its exemplary members and “aims at honoring professionals who have made significant contribution to the library profession, and for improving the relationship among libraries of CONSAL member countries.” This year’s theme is “Next Generation Libraries: Collaborate and Connect”.

The CONSAL was founded in Singapore in 1970 and is the only regional organization of libraries, library associations, library schools, and other related institutions of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) which is comprised of Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam.

CMDI is immensely proud of the latest achievement of Ms. Ramos, who represented the Philippines in the said congress. Last year, she was also awarded as Outstanding Librarian by the Professional Regulations Commission (PRC).
